Dave Muffley is our resident warrior-poet. He served with the U.S. Naval Advisory Group in-country in Vietnam. His unique assignment through four continuous tours of duty--from the height of the buildup to the last days of the withdrawal of American forces--exposed him to a wide-angle view of the conflict that was Vietnam. Those life experiences and lessons learned cause Dave to look beyond what is commonly known about the wars in our past to pierce the veils of history and belief. Instead of simply studying the “who, what, when, where, and how” of history, Dave would have us stop and ask, “Why?” Dave seeks to address the true purpose and practical alternatives to war in his poetry and presentation: "Our Piece of History: A Moment in Time." In his words: Since the dawn of our supposed civilization, mankind has measured and marked its history by wars. It seems not a generation passes without experiencing the horrors of war in its own lifetime. For many of us today, our own lives were touched by the Vietnam War. We may have been affected by it ourselves as a veteran, or perhaps as the spouse, child, relative or friend of a veteran. Part 1 (View Time ~33 minutes) Part 2 (View Time ~17 minutes) ![]() We were privileged to have Dave Clark put on his show telling us about the life and history of hobos! What a great story teller.
